Summary
Over the years our planet has grown increasingly fragile. Christians are not indifferent to this situation. How can the Christian faith contribute to reversing it? As a first step we need to become aware of the importance of the cosmic universe. In this article, the Author proposes the Eucharist as a point of departure for studying this question. He argues that in the sacrament the risen Son is, in effect, connected both to the cosmos (because Christ makes the bread and wine the expression of his real presence in the world) and to the believer (because Christ offers Himself to the believer as food). The Author offers four specific ways in which this sacramental key demonstrates how the essence of the universe defines the action of the believer who is united in “substantial” depth to the Risen One.
