Summary:
The reader of St. Luke’s Gospel becomes aware that in the first four chapters there is evident tension concerning the father of Jesus: Joseph and/or God? Four texts are the basis of the present enquiry: the annunciation to Mary (1,26-38), the finding of Jesus in the Temple (2,41- 52), the immediate preparation for Jesus’s ministry (3,21-4,13) and, finally, the programmatic text of the entire Lucan oeuvre, the launching of Jesus’s ministry (4,14-44). After Lk 4 there is no longer found any reference to any paternity on the part of Joseph; from that point on, human beings’ recognition of the bond between God-Father and Jesus-Son will become part of Luke’s programme.

el lector del evangelio de Lucas descubre que en los primeros cuatro capítulos existe una clara tensión acerca del padre de Jesús: ¿José y/o Dios? Este estudio está basado en cuatro textos: la anunciación a María (1,26-38), el hallazgo de Jesús en el Templo (2,41-52), la sección de preparación inmediata al ministerio de Jesús (3,21-4,13) y, por último, el texto programático de la así llamada «obra de Lucas» o comienzo del ministerio de Jesús (4,14-44). Después de Lc 4 no se encontrarán más referencias a la paternidad de José; a partir de ese momento de la narración, el reconocimiento de parte de los hombres de los vínculos entre Dios-Padre y Jesús-Hijo se convierte en parte del programa de Lucas.
