I baci rituali nell’odierna liturgia ambrosiana

La regola dei baci rituali nella liturgia ambrosiana odierna non si discosta molto da quella della liturgia romana, anche se potrebbe avere in radice un rapporto più diretto con l’esigenza di riparare il «perfido bacio» con cui l’apostolo Giuda tradì Gesù. Il primo bacio, all’inizio e al termine della celebrazione eucaristica, è quello dato all’altare; il secondo, al vertice della liturgia della Parola, è quello dato al libro dei Vangeli; il terzo bacio è quello che porta a compimento, nella celebrazione del Venerdì Santo, l’adorazione della croce. In tutte e tre i casi il bacio si configura come un atto espressivo della relazione sponsale che unisce la Chiesa al Signore Gesù, relazione di amore fedele tesa a riscattare l’infedeltà dell’amico che ha tradito.

Ritual kisses in today’s Ambrosian liturgy

The rule of ritual kisses in the Ambrosian liturgy of today is not far from that one of the Roman liturgy, even if it could have, at its root, a more direct relationship with the need of redress the «wicked kiss», with which Judas betrayed Jesus. The first kiss, at beginning and at the end of the Eucharistic celebration, is that one given to the altar; the second, at the peak of the Liturgy of the Word, is that one given to the Gospel Book; the third one is that which bring to fulfilment the Cross adoration during the celebration of the Good Friday. In all these three cases the kiss is configured as an act that expresses the nuptial relationship that joins together the Church with the Lord Jesus, a love relationship aiming to redeem the unfaithfulness of the friend who has betrayed.
